AmeriCorps Programs in Nebraska

State & National Programs:

  • College Possible AmeriCorps members serve as mentors for high school and college students in the Omaha area.

  • Conservation Nebraska AmeriCorps members facilitate educational events that inform Nebraskans on how to live more sustainable lives and keep our state beautiful.

  • Partnership 4 Kids AmeriCorps members mentor students of all ages to help them succeed in college and reach the career of their dreams.

  • RISE AmeriCorps members mentor youth who are in the Nebraska probation system due to truancy. The program helps these students develop skills to increase their attendance in school.

  • Members serve the community by assisting with GED test preparation, ESL tutoring, career services, and the ZONE after-school program.

  • AmeriCorps members serving with ICRI mentor children who are new to the United States. They help refugee and immigrant families navigate their new home.

  • Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln partners with Community Learning Centers, and these AmeriCorps members help educate children and families on making healthier life choices.


VISTA Programs:

  • The Foundry in Lincoln, Nebraska is dedicated to supporting small nonprofit organizations. VISTA members will serve in the assignment of developing and facilitating projects tailored to empower and support growth development through grant writing, data support and collection, and community outreach.

  • Willow Rising
    Willow Rising

    The AmeriCorps VISTA member serving with Willow Rising in Grand Island supports the agency by building a volunteer database and developing a plan for engaging volunteers. They also support the agency’s communications efforts to reach more individuals in need of their services.

  • Omaha Equestrian Foundation
    Omaha Equestrian Foundation

    The Omaha Equestrian Foundation empowers the community by showcasing the transformative power of therapeutic programs involving horses. The VISTA member's primary objective is to help build capacity and enhance the organization's services through the digitization of records and managing social media.

  • United Way of the Kearney Area
    United Way of the Kearney Area

    This AmeriCorps VISTA member will build capacity through program development, coordinate community outreach activities, and launch plans for a new Community Resource Center.


AmeriCorps NCCC:

  • Nebraska is located in the North Central Region for AmeriCorps NCCC, though members can be placed in any of the four regions.


AmeriCorps Seniors:

  • AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers are aged 55 and up and serve in one of three types of programs; RSVP, Senior Companions, and Foster Grandparents.
